Regional Champs!

Today, Saturday January 28th, the Shoshone Academic Decathlon team brought home the gold! The team won the regional meet hosted in Shoshone. The team will travel to the state meet in March at Idaho Falls. More details to come about individual awards in the coming week!

Magic Valley Times News Honors Scott Kerner!

Scott, a junior, has a gift: He can draw what he sees. Put a pencil in his hand, give him an interesting photo or still life, come back an hour later and you will marvel at Scott’s gift. He is motivated, almost driven, to create. He can do amazing things with shading using pencils. His rendering skills are excellent and he can work in any medium with pleasing results. The staff and students of Shoshone are always amazed at the quality of his artwork.

Teacher Professional Development

Friday teachers spent time learning about "Blended Learning"; ways to use further technology into the classroom. The "Students Come First" law, is being discussed in legistration this year anf it will give more regulation about online learning to school districts in the classrooms. As of right now, 1/3 of all high school students in the State of Idaho will receive Laptops in the coming school year. It has not been determined if Shoshone is part of the 1/3.
Friday afternoon, teachers reviewed all middle school students' data to set ISAT goals for this spring. The data taken into consideration was last years' ISAT scores, Plato benchmark testing, Aimsweb data and classroom assessments.
